From Sunday September 24 to Tuesday September 26, the 2nd Annual Convening of the GPM will be hosted by the City of Stavanger, Norway. The Annual Convening aims to bring together the GPM mayors from all over the world, with experts and (UN) organizations, to share their experiences in addressing global critical issues in cities and to develop ideas to take common actions. The main focus of the convening will be on the themes that have been determined by the GPM members in 2016: Migration, Climate Change, Governance and Urban Security as a new theme.
The Annual Convening will pay tribute to Dr. Benjamin Barber, Founder of the Global Parliament of Mayors and first Chair of the GPM Consultative Committee, who passed away on April 24 2017.
