It is evident, even today, that the way cities are planned and designed can impact disproportionately on women. As urbanization continues to shape our world it is therefore essential that we prioritize women’s wellbeing, and particularly their safety and security. To explore these issues and possible solutions the GPM and ARUP will host the webinar entitled “Cities Alive – Designing Cities that Work for Women: Safety & Security”. This webinar will bring together mayors and local leaders to share experiences and explore solutions and best practices for designing cities that work for women.
Speakers include:
● Mayor Arsovska (Skopje, North Macedonia)
● Mayor Ngiriker (Nebbi, Uganda)
● Mayor Salgueiro (Matosinhos, Portugal)
● Mayor De Clercq (Ghent, Belgium)
● Councillor Helen Holland (Bristol, UK)
The webinar will be moderated by Felicitas zu Dohna, Cities Alive Programme Lead, Arup.
