In the built-up to GPM’s Strategic Session in Mannheim, Germany, business magazine Capital has published an article about the collective power of urban cities and the key role of the Global Mayor to solve global issues by finding the solution in urban space. „The global challenges are all taking place in the midst of our cities: From migration, demographic change and the digital economy to the consequences of climate change, mobility and compliance with human rights,” says Mannheim’s Mayor Peter Kurz. “All these problems connect us. It is important for cities to network internationally, to learn from one another, and to solve local and transnational problems together. No city can do this alone. This can only be achieved together.“
