Speakers

The session brings together two leading voices in the global urban debate:

  • Charles Landry, GPM Advisory Board Member — Renowned urban expert, author, and founder of the Creative City concept. Landry will share insights on how creativity can be embedded in urban strategies to shape vibrant and resilient cities.

  • Prof. Dr. Eric Corijn, GPM Director of Policy & Research — Philosopher, sociologist, and urban studies expert, will moderate the discussion, offering analysis and guiding participants through this thought-provoking exchange.

Why Arts & Culture Matter for Cities

The world is rapidly changing and that affects cities. To fuel the urban project and to unite diverse populations cities must better develop urban imaging. Not just for their arts and culture, but in all sectors. Urban policy is not only about the hardware but needs a good software for dynamic development and mobilize the inhabitants.

This first GPM City Dialogue webinar will explore how cities can strategically position culture at the heart of the urban project, and how doing so can unlock dynamic development and empower citizens.

Looking Ahead

As the opening event in the GPM City Dialogue Series, this webinar sets the tone for a programme of focused, thematic discussions aimed at sharing knowledge and sparking collaboration between city leaders across the globe. Future sessions will build on this momentum by tackling other critical dimensions of urban development.
