22 October, 2021 – The Global Parliament of Mayors (GPM) General Meeting has elected two new members to the Executive Committee. The two new members, Bryan K. Barnett, Mayor of Rochester Hills (MI/USA) and former President of the US Conference of Mayors, and Mathias de Clercq, Mayor of Ghent (Belgium) are mandated for the next three year. They will be joining the mayors from Banjul (the Gambia), Braga (Portugal), Katowice (Poland), Mannheim (Germany), Monrovia (Liberia), and Palermo (Italy).
The Executive Committee is the governing board of the Global Parliament of Mayors. They are tasked with promoting democracy and fostering the self-governance of cities around the world.
