A special Cities Edition with GPM Mayors Marvin Rees (Bristol) and Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr (Freetown) together with Mayor Giuseppe Sala (Milan) came together in New York City to discuss the interdependency of cities on migration, climate change and democratic legitimacy as part of the Mayors Migration Council. Mayor Aki-Sawyerr advocates for a 360° view on migration, where it is important to not think of cities of origin as passive players. Often these cities are also destination cities for rural migrants.
