15 September 2022 – We are delighted to announce that Erion Veliaj, Mayor of Tirana, Albania, and Óscar Escobar, Mayor of Palmira, Colombia, have joined the Global Parliament of Mayors as candidate members.
The GPM is excited to keep contributing and working together with both mayors. In the past, Mayor Veliaj and Mayor Escobar have participated in the GPM Annual Summits 2021 and 2022, as well as in the webinars “Strengthening the Safer Cities Strategy while responding to COVID-19”, and “Rethinking the city: how mayors respond to the needs of a post-COVID city.”
