Monrovia, March 2018 – Monrovia’s Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee:
“Coming out of a fourteen yearlong brutal and destructive civil crisis and an almost two-year Ebola pandemic that broke down our social, political, and economic fabric of our city in particular and nation as a whole, I have come as a young man with so much energy and passion to work with local people, national government and international bodies to help restore hope to my people and build a sustainable and viable city.
Being the youngest mayor ever in the history of our city, I believe the Global Parliament of Mayors affords me the platform to learn from and share my experience with professionals and colleagues in the field, and build partnership and network for a better and sustainable city thereby bringing government and public policies closer to the people and empowering cities for a better and equitable world.”.
