8 November, 2021 – The Global Parliament of Mayors gives a warm welcome to the recently appointed Mayor of Rabat, Morocco, Asmaa Rhalou. Mayor Rhlalou is the first female mayor of Rabat, having received 58 votes out of 81. During her inaugural speech, she has said that she “will be mayor for all, the majority and the opposition,” adding that “everyone will work for development and raising the standard of living of Rabatis.”
The city of Rabat has been a GPM member since 2020. The GPM is looking forward to continuing to work closely with Mayor Rhlalou and her city.
