05 February 2024 – The GPM is pleased to announce the addition of Mayor Blerim Bexheti of Saraj, North Macedonia, as a new GPM member. Mayor Bexheti brings a rich background in public service, including roles as a senior associate in the Ministry of Justice (2002-2005), a Member of Parliament (2006), and various committee positions in legislative and security oversight. He was re-elected as a deputy in the Republic of Macedonia’s Assembly in 2008 and held significant positions in local government and European affairs commissions. Elected mayor of Saraj in 2009, he concurrently joined the ZEVL management board and later served as the Minister of Justice (2011-2014). He was re-elected as Saraj’s mayor in 2017 and again for the term 2021-2025.
