July, 2022 – The GPM extends a warm welcome to governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o of Kisumu (Kenya). Kisumu is the third-largest city in Kenya after the capital, Nairobi, and the coastal city of Mombasa. Kisumu serves as a trading and transportation hub for the Great Lakes region in western Kenya. The GPM is excited to work altogether with governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o and the city of Kisumu on empowering mayors and cities to solve global challenges.
